Shelter From The Rain – A5 Print

Sometimes we all need to shelter from the rain. Toad here is enjoying a quiet moment under this wonderful toadstool, waiting for the sun to return.

This is a print of an original illustration. I created toad one rainy day – looking out at the rain, feeling safe and dry inside. Watching the drips roll down the window pane, I thought of all the creatures outside without the shelter of four walls and began to sketch.

The original was created using watercolour as the first layer, then adding detail using coloured pencil.

“Shelter from the Rain” is an A5 print (15cm x 21cm approx) and is unframed.

This is a print of an original by myself (Jackie Evans) created in my unique style, using a mix of watercolour and coloured pencil.

Once complete, the image was scanned, and the coloured background added before being sent to my printing partner (Print.Work – a fellow UK business), who reproduced it on a slightly textured white heavy paper (300gsm).
