Hello! Right then. What’s happened since our last story… O gosh – that was back in June! There is lots to catch up on….
Last time I wrote, I told you all about the skateboard I was painting for a local exhibition.
I finished it by the deadline and absolutely loved the process.
I did several sketches, had a few ideas, and I decided upon a giraffe—a skateboarding giraffe, of course. It wasn’t easy; I’ve never worked with or on anything this large. Even positioning it to paint was a challenge. But as you can see, I did complete it. It’s currently on display at Vans Streetfood at Unit 7 in Llanelli.
It is for sale, so message me for more information!
I may retrieve it shortly to get more photos and add it to the website. It was such fun that I am considering getting more blank decks, although I am looking into logistics like postage.
So what else is new?
Aah yes – Ted and I (and my hubby) have been on holiday. We decided to stay in the UK this year – there are so many beautful spots in the UK that get overlooked.

It was a two-stage holiday – first a few days in the beautiful village of Haworth, home of the Bronte museum, surrounded by the moors that inspired the Bronte sisters.
Then we moved to Northumberland, with it’s stunning coastline. We stayed near Amble – and one of the highlights for me was getting a boat out to Coquet Island (well close to it) to see the puffins and, as a bonus, so many seals! That’s something that’s been on my bucket list for a long time.
As always we walked. A lot. Several miles each day. I moan and groan almost every step but (and do NOT tell my hubby) I do like it really. Walking is an opportunity for thinking and mindfulness. It’s often when I get my best ideas (they are still in my head – but don’t worry – they will be shared with you when they escape onto the page).

And when you walk you will see things you wouldn’t spot from the car (like a giant stone puffin – one of Ted’s favourite sites).
And as a bonus, walking is very good for you. I won’t preach about that now, I’ve waffled on enough today – but be warned, I may be back to extoll the many virtues of a simple walk!
I will also no doubt share a few more stories from our holiday. Perhaps it will give some you some ideas for places to go and things to see… (but you probably would need to like walking – and remember that it’s not always sunny in the UK).
Anyway – I hope you enjoyed seeing the skateboard. I would love to hear your suggestions on different subject matter I could try.
